Barnacle Phil's About Us
North Captiva Island was separated from Captiva during the hurricane of 1921. The island is approximately four miles long and one-half mile wide at its widest point.
This tropical retreat is just 20-25 minutes by boat from Pine Island. The island consists of three main areas: a small area of secluded homes sits on the southernmost tip, a large section of State-owned nature preserve takes up almost half the island, and the north end has been carefully developed to preserve the balance with nature.
There is no pavement, and the only means of transportation are on foot, bicycle, or by electric golf cart. Private dwellings are nestled discretely within native vegetation.
